작품설명 [사이를 이어주는 집; LIFE_FACTORY 間]

LIFE_FACTORY 間은 집을 통해 살아가고 느끼고 즐기고 성장하기를 바라는 의미로 계획되어진 주택건축 시리즈 중 하나이다.

판교 택지지구에 위치한 본 주택은 단독주택지 경계에 위치하였으며, 대지의 서측으로는 25M도로와 버스정류장이 붙어있고 건너편으로 고층아파트단지가 있다. 아들 3형제와 부부, 미래에 부모님까지도 함께 거주할 주택으로 부부 연구원인 건축주는 연구실이 있는 안전한 주택을 원하였다.

도시와 마을, 도로와 대지, 업무공간과 거주공간, 타인으로부터의 보호와 이웃과의 소통, 부모와 자녀의 독립과 소통과 같이 상이한 환경과 삶의 공존해야 하는 상황에서 공종해야 하는 상황에서 단절보다는 맺음의 컨섭으로 주택 내외부가 구성되고 디자인 되었다.
즉, 서로를 연결하여 관계를 맺개하는 집 ; 間이 이 주택의 키워드라 할 수 있었다.

3개의 MASS로 디자인 되어진 LIFE_FACTORY 間은 배치되는 과정에서 바깥마당(주차), 안마당과 옥상마당의 3개의 다른 성격의 외부공간과 같이 연계되어 내외부 공간의 다양성과 위계를 체험할 수 있는 하였다. 덧붙여 바깥마당을 통해 진입 후 스튜디오;사랑채(FACTORY), 창고가 있는 담;행랑채(CONNECTION)을 거쳐 안마당, 거주공간;안채(LIFE)의 한옥적 공간구성이 적용되어 있다.
특히 단절의 의미로 적용되어지고 있는 담이 외부로부터 지켜주고 이웃과 나를 서로 편하게 만들어 오히려 소통을 원할하게 만들수 있는 전혀 다른 요소로 사용되어 질 수 있게 하였다.

안마당은 업무공간(FACTORY)과 주거공간(LIFE)의 매개공간과 더불어, 방과 거실, 가족실, 옥상마당, 바깥마당, 주방, 식당에서 통하는 공간으로 소통의 중심공간으로써의 역활을 하고 있다.
1층 PUBLIC영역과 2층 PRIVIT 영역으로 분리된 거주 공간에서 가족실은 아이들공간과 부모공간, 1층에서 2층으로 연결되는 첫 공간으로 가족 개개인의 프라이버시를 지키면서도 편안하게 관계를 연결시킬 수 있는 공간이라 볼 수 있다.

소음, 먼지 등 대지의 불리함을 극복하고자 사용한 붉은 벽돌은 오랜시간 많은 사람들이 봤을때 지루해지지 않고, 관리가 편리하며, 주변과 조화로울 수 있는 재료였다. 재료의 다양함으로 과시하기 보다는 절제되고 균형있게 디자인된 MASS에 제대로 잘 시공된 벽돌은 오히려 돋보여지고 있다.


[The house which connects people through space : Life Factory "BETWEEN“]

This house is one of the building series by Life Factory. It was designed for people not only to live in the house but also to feel and enjoy their living place. Furthermore, the architect hope
for growth of its residents.

This house is located on the border of new town detached housing area in Pankyo housing site.
On the West of the land, there are a 25-meter road with a bus station. Across the street, there is a high-rise apartment complex. The owner couple who are researchers want their house to be safe because they have three sons. They also plans to live with their parents in the future. They also ask a laboratory for them.

The main concept of this project is the connection between towns and villages, roads and land, and the working area and the living space.
It seeks the protection from other people and communication with neighbors, and independence and relations between parents and children at the same time. In short, it is the house which connects people and strengthen relations- The key word is "between“

This house consists of 3 Mass with three different yards (an outside yard-parking lot-, courtyard and rooftop yard) They are hierarchically arranged and connected one another in order to create space diversity. And just like Korean traditional house, people can walk across the outside yard first, pass the studio;FACTORY, along the wall with a garage, through the CONNECTION and courtyard and finally come in the living space;LIFE.
Especially, contrary to the usual thought of the wall which means disconnection between the neighbors, the wall of this project is designed to feel residents comfortable and encourage more communication between the neighborhood.

In addition to the working area(FACTORY) and the living space(LIFE), the courtyard takes a role of the center for communication. Through this courtyard, people can go to its rooms, living room, family room, rooftop yard, kitchen and dining room .
This house is divided into two parts- public area (1st floor) and private zone(2nd floor). The family room is the first place to connect kids' zone and parents' area, and 1st and 2nd floor. It keeps family members' privacy as well as unite them, too.

Red bricks are used to overcome its disadvantage of the location such as noise and dust. This is a good choice because it doesn't make people bored and easy to be maintained. It is also in harmony with the surroundings. With the simple and balanced design, this humble material rather stands out other objects.
